California is burning, and its citizens are reaping the whirlwind of electing liberal fools at all levels of government. I lay before you the following names as evidence of this statement: Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters, Barbara Boxer, Adam Schiff, Los Angeles Mayor, Karen Bass, and, of course, the greatest phony to ever cross the political stage, Governor Gavin Newsom. With that lineup, it is no wonder California is turning into ash.
The demise of that beautiful state may be a lesson too late for the learning. A rational being would reflect on the questionable actions of the California electorate to provide an overwhelming popular vote for Joe Biden for president in 2020. A rational being might have become disenchanted with the tax burdens, the crime wave, the burgeoning illegal immigrant population, accelerating health care costs, exploding costs of housing, etc., etc. But, so far, all these burdens have been borne with little resistance by the citizens of California.
Perhaps now, Californians will take note of the havoc being reeked on their state because of Gavin Newsome’s and his predecessors’ policies, especially those relating to water source and forestry management. Perhaps they will view the theoretical claims of environmentalists with a jaundiced eye and realize that their policies provided kindling for the fires now raging through Palisades. The ongoing catastrophe in California may be enough to cause voters to turn away from the Hollywood crowd and realize these people put their trousers and jeans on, one leg at a time, just as the rest of America does. Their half-ass acting ability gives them no special insights that should convince voters to accept their political views. Anyone can read from a script. My word to Californians is that you are not lemurs. Be careful not to follow these self-appointed political wizards over a cliff.
During my Navy career, I spent two years in the Los Angeles area and two years in Monterey. A conservative by the name of Ronald Reagan was governor, and California was a great place to live. Unfortunately, under recent governance, it has devolved into its present disarray. The current problems will not go away unless momentous changes are made to government policies, and the citizens wake up to the damage already done and planned by the liberal left. When the fires are finally brought under control and the upheaval quieted, perhaps the voters will demand rational changes. If not, the citizens of California will reap the whirlwind, again and again.
As always, spot on, and don’t buy into the narrative of global warming, seems funny to me that they weren’t even prepared for that, remember the commercial ‘It’s not nice to fool mother nature’ but there is justice, the Hollywood celebrities that mocked God and Christians at the golden globe awards all lost there homes in a fire a couple days later, but the sad part is they won’t get it, but the good part is they now have a taste of what it’s like in hell. I read an article the other day about the Raskins a very powerful couple in California that made a secret deal with California that would give them rights over 60% of California’s waters for their pistachio and almond farms with a reported use of 180 billion gallons of water per year, meanwhile the reservoirs for the public are empty due to a smelt that must be saved, damn the people of the state. Also Biden has committed 180 days of 100% financial support, meanwhile we have folks in Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia and Florida who are being denied any form of relief, so looking back every natural disaster that has happened over the past four years, it is now a fact that depending on the color of the state will depend on what relief the people will get.
Right on, Travis! One would think the citizens would tire of reaping the malevolent. We attended a small conference with US Rep Andrew Clyde. A seasoned attendee commented: “Never underestimate the power of incumbency.” I’ve always been baffled by that. My inclination is to vote for a challenger unless the incumbent shares my ideology and is doing a fantastic job.
